USEFUL LINKS

Moving is never easy, and it can be even more challenging when the move is to a country with a different language and culture. Fortunately there are a host of resources available to turn to for help. In addition to the services that Ecuatrust offers, we have put together some links that we hope will be useful to you.

Transportation and Moving Services.

While taxis are an easy and inexpensive way to get around if you do not have your own, they have limitations. Often you have more in terms of bags and boxes that will fit in a regular taxi. You may be needing to travel to another city or town. For those times there are people that can provide transportation in vans or even make a truck available. Here are some that we have found to be reliable and experienced:

Journeyman Jack Relocation Services.

Located in Quito, and operated by Jack Abercrombie since 2008, this is really a complete relocation service, including not only transportation but tours and just about any kind of assistance you might need.

Quito Capital Rides

Operated by Rodrigo Pilagonia, this service provies transportation not only around Quito, but if you need it, just about anywhere in Ecuador. Using an 11 passenger makes it comfortable and safe to get from the airport to downtown Quito, or to tour different parts of Ecuador.

Ecuador Expat Journeys

If you are thinking of coming to Ecuador, but have not yet decided where you would like to live, this site is worthy of your attention. They offer in addition to tours of the country a "crash course" that will acquaint you with Ecuador, its regions, culture and diversity.

Government Links

As you can expect, moving and establishing yourself in Ecuador will require some interaction with various agencies and departments of the government. Here are some useful links:

Consular Services, Embassy of Ecuador

This site provides useful information concerning both temporary and permanent visas and includes a link to the online portal for temporary visas.

Ecuador Immigration Ministry (Ministerio de Relaciones Exteriores y Movilidad Humana)

This is the division of the government of Ecuador that actually issues visas allowing you to remain in Ecuador, either temporarily or permanently. While the site is in Spanish it is important becaue here you will find all of the rules, requirements and procedures related to visas and residency.
